Post Sunday+Monday Blues

Two days ago, the Sunday, I was waken up by a SMS from my sister telling me that the SPCA trip was cancelled as she was in no hurry to adopt a pet. Eric was in camp and so I had no where to go. I messaged Kenzo online to ask him out for movie, and subsequently roped in Eddy as well. We watched "Meet Dave" at The Cathay, and thereafter we went Bt Timah for supper.

One thing I like to have supper at Bt Timah is because of the location that attracts youngsters there. Guys to be exact. Hehe. There I was, gobbing down chicken nasi briyani and onion pratas few hours before my IPPT. Over the supper, I finally brought up a topic which I was thinking over for a few days. Exactly how far can you go just to fulfill your bosses' expectations? I was unable to clear a vehicle for entry to some place where my boss was supposed to attend a meeting. What's the big deal? I'm the one who drives and I can always alight him then I drive off to park somewhere. Apparently, my fellow colleague suggested calling our friend from another department to help us clear the vehicle. And so I was thinking, is there a need to go to such extent? But in anyways, I just did so for the sake of settling this whole issue.

Monday came with THE morning exercise that I was prepared and not prepared at the same time. I attended IPPT and got a "Passed". That's it. I wondered, I could have gotten a "Silver" if only I can jump further and shuttled-run faster. My 2.4km was not fast but at least at a "Silver" standard. Shucks.

What Did You Do On Monday?

After shifting my workstation from the usual spot to a new location, I was still not used to reach at my desk in 5 steps once I opened the door. (Although I can now come into the office without having my boss to know that I'm late)

I felt that my hair is very long at the back, and the sides started to jolt out like they are showing directions to lost tourists. And so I decided to have my haircut today. However since today is Monday and Reime does not open on Mondays, I made my mind to pay a visit to Supercuts as recommended by Kenzo where he frequents that salon with his regular stylist Benson.

I didn't want to try Kenzo's stylist as I wanted to go with whoever the staff assigned me to. And so I was handed over to a guy named William. Soft-spoken guy with a Malaysian ascent. Overall I was quite happy with his cutting and styling skills, he also gave me some tips on how to style my hair. I think he shall be my regular stylist, after Candice quitted from Reime. *grinz*

I went back to office, to look for the rest of the peeps like Kenzo and Eddy. I met them for dinner and KJ joined us too. As it was almost 9pm, with not much choices left for us around our workplace, we settled our dinner at Swensen's Chinatown Point. There we were, 3 AJs and 1 str8 guy, laughing and joking away with work, problems and Kenzo's pronunciations. We left for home at about 10.30pm.

Good Night.

My new workstation. Same size, different location.

Something to ponder upon

Just now, I spent about 30 minutes to briefly scanned through my LiveJournal entries which I made from 7th August 2004 until 15th May 2005. And here I am, typing away and wondering why am I having the "What-Why-When-Who-and-How" situation.

Nine months of entries of my personal life, work life and love life flashed back at me. Not that I have forgotten most of the events, but somehow it really brought to my attention that I actually wrote (typed) quite alot last time. Well, at least more than the current me with the current blog. Haha.

Is there a permanent blockage in my mind like some long term writer's block? Or are there clusters of memories that I chose to put it away and hide it in the darkest corner of my head?
I couldn't remember that I could make entries with English words which I seldom speak of, although not those that are sophisticatedly delivered. Nor I could remember that I ever made entries in Chinese, that I almost think that I've gotten someone else to type for me.

But languages and words aside. Over these years, I think I've became a different person. Not sure it's for better or worse, just different. Facing new challenges and different kinds of people, I've changed subconsciously when dealing with people and events. I felt that I was able to stay confident in dealing with certain issues, while trying to stay low and away from other things. I won some things, and I lost some too.

In anyways, I still feel that one should not regret in doing his stuff once decision has been made. Making a leap to face changes will always expose yourself and gain experiences, in one way or the other.

ps: I can't sleep and I'm typing rubbish. Again. This has never changed in me. =)

Updates

Updates on my "Things to do":

1. Visit National Library and grab a book - Pending
Have not been to the National Library to pick up a book since its opening, although I've been there a couple of times to watch plays and shows. I think I can make a trip down during lunch or something, all by myself.

2. Get Absolut Vodka Colors - Done
Fabulous Olympics was a nose-bleeding night for all of us. And I got what I wanted! A new addition to my collections of Absolut Vodka.

Edwin, Jowy, Ivan and Edwin's friend are not in this photo.

I lost my bear, can I bring this home?

Here it is. Absolut Colors.

3. Source for getaways - Done
Just managed to browse some leaflets at Pricebreaker Marina Sq branch. No intentions to buy the air tickets or hotel rooms from them, but just having a sense of what they can offer me. Conclusion, no way.

4. Get more fishes for my tank - Done
Erm, not exactly fishes that I gotten for my tank. A small red snail to clean up my tank in case algae starts to infest from the water plants.

My fish tank in office. About a foot long.

New member in the tank. Feeds on algae.

5. Find "Heroes" Season 2 - Done
Bought the dvd set from a local store at $44.95. Sad to say that it has only 11 episodes for volume 2. Well, I'm waiting.

6. Explore Canon EOS DSLR 1000D - Done
Tried this model from Canon showroom Vivocity. Not a bad camera for beginners like me, neither here nor there type. Selling price is at $1099, but I think I know where I can get it at a cheaper price. Haha.
