Chinese Traditions, Muslim Customs

Went out with my mum to pray at Nine Emperors God Temple. This month is the lunar ninth month where people with Taoist beliefs pray to the Nine Emperors. Normally people will flock to Kusu Island this time of the year however for those who do not have the time, devotees can choose to pray at this temple too.

After praying and telling the deities of our wishes, we went to have some vegetarian food and green bean soup served by the helpers of the temple. Then mum told me to call sister down to pray, and tell her there's vegetarian food as well. I was like.. "Huh?" I immediately told her that if one is devoted enough to come down and pray, there's no need to use food or other material for motivation. Then she laughed. Geez..

We then make a trip down to Geylang Serai!!! It's Hari Raya soon~~ Kinda hard to find the place especially it's the first time visiting, and we alighted quite far from the place. I had to ask one Malay lady and she was kind enough to give me the directions~~

I was amazed by the size of the pasar malam when we reach there. It covers almost the whole street of Changi Road with merchandise like carpets, clothing, curtains and bags along with yummy food like otar, chicken wings, nasi briyani and all-time favourite Ramli buger!!

Oh yeah! I bought something interesting while walking the bazaar. It's called Dengdeng. Thin slices of beef grilled on top of the hot charcoal, just like bak gua!!! So nice and tender!!! Price ranging from $3/100grams to $4/100grams.

Mum bought some snacks and crackers before catching a bus home. Another tired day. *Yawnz*
