Wow!!

Watched Channel NewsAsia's documentary film, Krakatoa. It's amazing!! It has been some time since I've watched documentary films and this one is good!

It talks about the volcano Krakatoa aka Krakatau in Sumatra that erupted back in August 1883. The eruption was SO serious that the island where the volcano sat was destroyed. Blasts of eruption can also be heard from Perth, Australia. Volcano dust and ashes flew across the earth, covering the sun causing the sky to become red. Batavia's temperture was 18 degrees Celcius rather than the usual 27. After the eruption, an 30m tsunami hit the coasts of Java and Sumatra, killing more than 36,000 people.

Years after the incident till 1927, Anak Krakatau (the child) was born near the formal Krakatau island. It appears to have minor eruptions once in a while however is still considered dangerous as it is still growing in size!

Man! I really don't wana shut all my windows just to prevent thick dust and ashes from flying into my house. And to stay in an environment with low temperature and no sunlight!!!
